Human Nature

Human Nature

Some days, the sun doesn’t rise. I don’t blame our gods; they’re trying their best, but they’ve got a lot on their plate. Sometimes they forget that a child should be born after nine months, so it keeps gestating for another year or two. Sometimes the tide doesn't go out—but there are many beaches in the world to keep track of, after all. Sometimes someone falls from a great height, intentionally or not, but floats to the ground, as if gravity is down for maintenance. None of this is malicious; it simply shows that the gods are just like us.
