Timothy Michael Cooper is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and comedian. 365 Short Stories is his newest project: high-concept short stories developed for the modern reader, accompanied by A.I.-generated art, with the goal of inspiring other screenwriters, artists, and creatives.

Timothy is the creator of the upcoming comedy sci-fi short film Knead. His short comedy Lemon—starring Jennifer Westfeldt, Noah Bean, and Jenn Lyon—premiered at Tribeca and played festivals around the world, as well as on United Airlines and Amazon Prime. It’s now being developed as a television sitcom.

He also wrote and directed the online sitcom Concierge: The Series, starring Saturday Night Live’s Kate McKinnon, which was nominated for the first-ever short-form Writers Guild Award.

Other credits include writing the dramatic feature Away From Here, starring Nick Stahl, Alicia Witt, and Ray Wise; directing the improvised plays Sunny-Side Up and Farebeater: Improv in a Cab at Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City; writing and directing the two-screen digital sitcom pilot We Are Criminal Masterminds, a top-five nationwide finalist in the Samsung Second Screen Storytellers Competition at the New York Television Festival; and writing standalone episodes of the popular speculative-fiction podcast The Truth, including “Chester” and “Gods and Mortals.”

Previously, he created 365 Loglines, in which he gave away 365 original movie loglines—one a day for an entire year.

As a longtime member of the writers’ room for the Writers Guild Awards, he’s written comedy material for Jimmy Fallon, Amy Schumer, Amber Ruffin, Kenan Thompson, Sacha Baron Cohen, Ashley Nicole Black, Ariana DeBose, Vanessa Bayer, Michael Ian Black, Michelle Buteau, and many more.

Based in Brooklyn, Timothy is a former restaurant critic, journalist, and playwright who's written for film, television, podcasts, video games, and awards shows. As the founder and owner of Blueprint Screenwriting Group, he's also a sought-after screenwriting coach, script doctor, filmmaking lecturer, and story consultant. Timothy is a proud member of the Writers Guild of America, the Brooklyn Filmmakers Collective, and the Hollywood Radio & Television Society.
