Dan really wanted his girlfriend to turn him into a vampire. Sure, he and Chloé had only been official for less than a semester, but plenty of other kids had already done it right after homecoming. Those kids’ mistake was thinking they could keep it secret from their parents, which was impossible, since they developed allergies to sunlight literally the next day, yada yada. But Dan knew it’d feel awesome. Besides, everyone else was doing it and seemed fine (unlike the gerbils in the bio lab, which kept disappearing). Sure, it’d change his life forever—but wasn’t that exactly the point?
