Bloodred

Bloodred

Stained gauze beneath his nose, Nicolas couldn’t believe he’d made it to fifth grade without realizing he bled silver-colored blood. After the nurse sent him home, his parents admitted he was an android, built off the body of their son, Nicolas, who’d died of childhood leukemia. Which made him feel weird but not unloved—if anything, he felt more wanted. But back at school, the bullying increased; the only way to stop it was to become the bully himself. Which Nicolas was almost too good at: Armed with the knowledge he'd already died once, what else could possibly intimidate him now?
